FAQ

The only thing you need to bring is your can do spirit! That and a signed participation consent form, unless you scanned it to us already. If you're under 18 years old please have your guardian sign it before you enter UCSD campus. This is the form I'm talking about:

What do I bring?

It's a Saturday event that starts at 9 AM and maybe you want to sleep in. That's cool and all, but, you will miss out on pretty neat stuff. You miss out on the chance to speak with very friendly UCSD students and picking their minds on the best advice to become admitted to a CSU/UC/private university. If you want a mentor and there's a UCSD student or two that you enjoy talking to in particular, then you can request that student as a mentor (mentors will be randomly assigned if there's no request). All of the mentors and UCSD students are awesome, but, perhaps you might enjoy someone's style more than another. By sleeping through Project-Up you will also miss out on a neat tour of the UCSD campus, checking out how college is like, and, most importantly, miss free food. Free food is often the best food, just sayin'. Again, no one is forcing you to go, but the chance to see first hand how you can prepare for college is a rare occasion that should be taken advantage of.

Why should I go?

Lots of food! We have a continental breakfast ready and then for lunch we have Subway. It's all free and on the house, courtesy of Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine =)

P.S. If there's extra food after the whole event you can totally get more and take it home!

Will there be food?
06/  Is parking free? Where do we park?

On weekends, parking is very free anywhere in UCSD. The closest parking structure to Student Center is Gilman Parking structure or the Revelle College parking near the Theater District. Click below if you like a more detailed layout.

It's going down on May 17, 2014 in UCSD's "Dolores Huerta" room. The Dolores Huerta Room is in the Student Center, and there are plenty of maps around campus so no worries. An easy way to find the student center is face directly at the Main Gym entrance, turn back all the way, then keep walking and you should see the room soon. Click below if you want to see the layout of Student Center so you can find the Dolores Huerta Room easier come May 17, 2014.

05/ What time and where is this happening?

Absolutely! Please shoot us an email at ucsdccm@gmail.com and we will answer any questions you have. We will even hook you up with a UCSD mentor in case you have more questions later on.

04 /
What if I can't make it to the event, can I still contact you about my college questions? What if I also want a mentor?

07/ The participation waiver is asking me for "org" and "name of event" and stuff. What do I put?

In org write Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine (CCM) and the event is Project-Up (Unleash your Potential). It's happening on May 17, 2014. Here's an example of what to write, all we need is you and your parent/guardian's signature.
